Leadership

Having pursued Geomatic Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, my academic journey was enriched by significant leadership roles.

These five formative years honed my abilities in active listening, effective mobilization, and the practical execution of ideas.

The networks cultivated during this period have proven invaluable, underscoring the critical synergy between professional skills and strong connections.

My early career began in Nyeri at the age of 20, a period that ignited a strong entrepreneurial drive. By 22, this ambition culminated in the establishment of Geo-surveys and Geospatial Information Limited.

I believe that true leadership necessitates the courage to embrace personal risk, particularly when facing substantial challenges.

Each project undertaken presents an opportunity to guide my team, ensure client satisfaction, and champion sustainable practices – a commitment I am further developing through my Master’s studies in Environment and Natural Resources Law at the University of Nairobi.

My experience has reinforced the principle that trust is a direct outcome of consistent quality, whether in providing land surveying services to individual families or collaborating with governmental bodies.

The lessons learned during my student leadership – resilience, effective communication, and a proactive approach to competition – have formed a robust framework for my professional endeavors.

Crucially, I recognize that leadership is inherently collaborative. My approach centers on empowering my team members, delegating responsibilities, and fostering an environment where their talents can flourish.

While I maintain a strong sense of self-belief, my confidence is deeply rooted in my faith and the capabilities of those around me.

Much like the demanding yet ultimately rewarding experience of climbing hills in my youth, I view leadership as an ongoing journey – one that requires perseverance, offers significant fulfillment, and necessitates collective progress.
